Indian Valley Scuba & About Australia Diving Strikes Again
Indian Valley divers have an opportunity to achieve another first. Dave & Paul have been scheming since the Australia trip to put together a fantastic opportunity and it will be - to dive “New Zealand”. All details will be revealed during the Indian Valley “Dive in Festival”.

Paul Watkins is flying in to provide a presentation on this incredible international diving adventure. The itinerary we have created is completely unique but to give you a small taste of what to expect:

  • November 2011 - Dave is leading a group to New Zealand to dive 2 specific areas – basically the best of the best!
  • The 1st dive area is the Poor Nights (located in the Tutukaka on the North Island of New Zealand. This remote yet beautiful region is the perfect stepping off point to dive the eco rich Poor Knights islands – (Most amazingly it was named by Jacques Cousteau in his top 10 personal dive destinations in the world)
  • The 2nd is diving the Mikhael Lermontov a Russian Cruise ship sunk in mysterious circumstances in 1978. It is alleged she also operated as a Russian spy ship and, as such, government reports into the reason why she sunk have never been released. Amazingly, this is one of the largest cruise ships to sink since the Titanic. She lies in approx 108 ft of water on her starboard side with an average dive depth of 75ft. The Lermontov is completely intact, is easily penetrated & is right up there in terms of world wreck dives.

Combined in the itinerary will be the opportunity to see some very remote & incredibly beautiful parts of New Zealand not to mention the opportunity to watch Dave bungee jump in Queenstown….."
